PUBLIC PRESENTATION TO BE HELD OCTOBER 4
AT MOHICAN STATE PARK LODGE TO PRESENT DRAFT OF THE
ODNR MOHICAN-MALABAR REGIONAL MASTER PLAN

LOUDONVILLE, OH -- A presentation of the draft version of the Mohican-Malabar Regional Plan, including the goals and objectives, scope, and schedule will be held by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) at Mohican State Park Lodge on Wednesday, October 4. Information on the plan will be presented at two sessions, the first is scheduled from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. and the second will run from 7:30 to 8 p.m.

The Mohican-Malabar Regional Plan will include long-term goals for future capital improvement and recreational opportunities for the two state parks, memorial forest, nature preserve and other ODNR facilities in the region. The public will have an opportunity to speak with representatives from Behnke Associates, the landscape architects and planners hired to develop the plan, and members of the ODNR planning team to ask questions and make suggestions about the project.

A draft executive summary is currently available for public review at Mohican State Park, Malabar Farm State Park and Mohican State Forest. Interested parties are encouraged to review the draft executive summary and provide written comments to Behnke Associates. Comments should be sent to the firm at 700 W. St. Clair Ave., Suite 416 Cleveland, OH 44113.

The Mohican State Park Lodge is located in southern Ashland County, 15 miles southwest of Mansfield, at 1098 Ashland County Road 3006. The 1,260-acre park features the striking Clearfork Gorge, a hemlock forest and the scenic Mohican River.

The open house is sponsored by the ODNR Division of Parks & Recreation and Division of Real Estate & Land Management.
