ENJOY THE VIBRANT COLORS OF AUTUMN AT FOWLER WOODS STATE NATURE PRESERVE
Guided hikes offered during Natural Areas Discovery Series event on October 8
COLUMBUS, OH - Guided fall color hikes will be offered on Saturday, October 8 at Fowler Woods State Nature Preserve in Richland County as part of the Natural Areas Discovery Series, sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Natural Areas and Preserves.
Preserve naturalists will lead hikes at 10 a.m. and noon along the preserve’s 1.3-mile wheelchair accessible boardwalk trail, featuring trees that are several hundred years old. This heavily wooded 187-acre preserve hosts diverse habitats, including several large buttonbush swamps.
The preserve is located 13 miles north of Mansfield and 6 miles northwest of Olivesburg on Olivesburg-Fitchville Road. For more information call 419-981-6319.
The Natural Areas Discovery Series offers scheduled hikes and interpretive educational activities. The last of this year’s Discovery Series events will be October 15-16 at Conkle’s Hollow State Nature Preserve in Hocking County.
