Park Improvements
Renovation projects make for more convenient stays, happier camping and better boating.
Burr Oak Lodge -- Following the temporary closure of the lodge at Burr Oak over the winter, the finishing touches are nearly complete on a $1 million renovation project • The project includes improvements to make this relaxing resort facility more accessible to park guests with physical disabilities • A new elevator has been installed to provide better access to all of the lodge features, including four guest rooms that have been remodeled for full accessibility • New handrails, an updated fire alarm system and a new roof are also part of the project.
Lake Loramie -- This summer, Lake Loramie will offer three new getaway rentals—cedar cabins with the comforts of home. The roomy cedar cabins sleep six and feature a complete kitchen, bathroom with shower, heat and A/C, and a front porch with a great view of the lake • Campers who bring their own gear will appreciate the new showerhouse and dump station in the campground • Four new flush restrooms in day use areas round out the renovation project • Thanks to the Lake Loramie Improvement Association, youngsters can enjoy a new playground at the Filburn Picnic Area.
Geneva -- A dredging project is planned for the entrance to the safe harbor marina at Geneva to provide safer boating for watercraft on Lake Erie.
Delaware -- The marina area at Delaware is slated for dredging this summer to clear the way for safer boating.
