Ohio State Parks offer more recreational opportunities for adventure seekers
Rock climbing and rappelling are allowed by permit on designated areas at John Bryan State Park as well as Hocking State Forest
Snorkeling and scuba diving are allowed in 29 state park lakes
Maumee Bay lodge offers racquetball courts
A number of state parks have sand volleyball courts or miniature golf courses, and several have a disc golf course
Jefferson Lake offers tournament-ready lighted baseball fields with bleachers and concession stand
ATVs
All Terrain Vehicles or APVs...All Purpose Vehicles) are not allowed on state park trails
Ohio Division of Forestry has four State Forests that have designated areas for ATV's (motor cycles, quad runners and etc.) but no areas for jeeps, trucks and 4WD cars or buses.
Their trail system is limited to ATV's 48" wide or less and not more than 40 horsepower. The Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio also has an ATV area designated with similar restrictions.
