Winter Fishing
Cold weather is no reason to put away the rod-and-reel, and the fishing at Punderson Lake is sure to warm the heart of any angler. Both open water and ice fishing provide the chance to catch some tasty bluegill, feisty largemouth bass or challenging trout. In fact, winter is steelhead fishing time in northeast Ohio. The primary steelhead streams are the Vermilion, Rocky, Chagrin and Grand rivers and Conneaut Creek. Runs of stray steelhead can be found in other rivers such as the Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Huron and Black rivers; and Arcola, Cowles, Wheeler, French, Euclid, Turkey, Beaver and Cold creeks.
Be sure to have with you a valid Ohio fishing license, which can be purchased online or at any vendor outlet. |
