Lakeside Daisy Open House
May 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Discover the beauty of Ohio's rarest wildflower-- the Lakeside daisy. Naturalists will be on-hand to answer all of your questions about this globally-rare treasure.

Lou Campbell Open House
May 18, noon to 4 p.m.
Visitors have a rare chance to glimpse an endangered landscape at a preserve not usually open to the public without a permit. Lou Campbell State Nature Preserve harbors more than 30 state-listed plants including grass-pink orchid, wild lupine and plains puccoon. The open house is being held in conjuntion with other Oak Openings activities in local parks and natural areas across Lucas County.

Spring Hike at Eagle Creek
May 24, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Whether spotting colorful birds in flight or the delicate blooms of spring wildflowers, you'll enjoy this guided tour of Eagle Creek State Nature Preserve. Choose between a 10 a.m. or noon walk. Remember to bring along your binoculars and wear your favorite hiking shoes.
Located 2 miles northeast of Garrettsville on Center Rd. From Garrettsville go east on State Rte 82 for two blocks to the flashing light. Turn left (north) at the light onto Center Rd. Travel Center Rd for 2.3 miles to Hopkins Rd and turn right (south). For more information, contact (440) 632-3010.

Cranberry Bog, Licking County
Cranberry Bog Open House - Postcard Lottery
Saturday, June 21, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Cranberry Bog State Nature Preserve is one of Ohio's most unique places. With the exception of the annual Open House, visitation to Cranberry bog is limited to permit access only. Located off the north shore of Buckeye Lake, this preserve harbors a variety of northern bog species including grass-pink orchid and carnivorous plants. Transportation to and from the island is available from the Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society for a donation.
To enter the Cranberry Bog Lottery, please submit a postcard (one per family) to: Division of Natural Areas & Preserves, 2045 Morse Road, Bldg. F-1, Columbus, OH 43229. Postcards must be received by May 31 to be eligible for the lottery. Please include your name, mailing address, daytime phone number and total in your party (up to 4). Successfuly lottery entrants will be notified by mail in early June. Tours will be filled in the order of the cards drawn. For more information, contact (614) 265-6520.

Wahkeena & Rhododendron Cove, Fairfield County
Great Rhododendron Ramble
Saturday, July 5 - 10 a.m.
In conjunction with the Ohio Historical Society, the division invites you to explore the rugged cliffs, hills and valleys of the Wahkeena and Rhododendron Cove state nature preserve complex. This hike will begin at the Wahkeena Nature Preserve's visitor center and head toward the beauty of the great rhododendron in bloom. This 3-4 hour hike is for participants in good physical condition and proper footwear is a must. Pre-registration is required and is limited to 30 participants. Parking fee $3. Fall Foliage Festival
October 18-19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Conkle’s Hollow is a great place to enjoy the splendor of an Ohio autumn. Choose the accessibility of the Lower Gorge trail or the more challenging Upper Rim Trail. This event features a pioneer encampment and uniformed naturalists along the trails.
