Dear Interested Stakeholder,

The ODNR-Division of Forestry has formulated a new Strategic Plan to guide State Forest management for the upcoming 2-5 years. The Strategic Plan is an effort to focus our State Forest management activities on the highest priorities.

The Strategic Plan also incorporates the important step of certification of our State Forests to the standards of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Through the leadership of Governor Strickland, the Division of Forestry has been tasked with achieving SFI and FSC certification in 2009.

We would like to invite you and/or your organization to a meeting of stakeholders to participate in this process and comment on the new Strategic Plan. The meeting will be held:

If you are unable to attend this stakeholder meeting or you would like to review the Strategic Plan prior to the meeting, download pdf version. A second opportunity to comment on the strategic plan will be offered at our annual district office open houses to be held later this summer.

You may send your responses via email or submit them at the stakeholders meeting or one of the open houses. All comments and responses on the new State Forest Strategic Plan will be received up to and including October 1, 2008. Thank you for your participation in State Forest management.
