The director of the new Conservation and Recreation Department in your area needs to create job positions and hire people to fill those positions. The director has hired you and your talent scout team to make recommendations of job positions and people to fill those positions.

Your talent scout team will select job positions and candidates for those positions from a list of employees at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The new Conservation and Recreation Department only has enough funding to hire 10 employees, so you must carefully select which types of positions are most needed in your county and evaluate the ODNR employees who can fill these positions.

Your team will write a portfolio evaluation for each of the 10 positions, including the candidates you recommend for the positions. You will also make a presentation to the director (your teacher) of the new Conservation and Recreation Department that will include recommendations of positions and candidates for the Conservation and Recreation Department. You will make recommendations to your client in a Power Point presentation.

The employee portfolios will be evaluated using a portfolio evaluation rubric.

The presentation will be evaluated using a presentation evaluation rubric.

There are no right or wrong answers; you will be graded on good judgment and justification.
