A small earthquake centered in northwestern Shelby County, north of Lake Loramie, was felt by residents in Shelby and surrounding counties at 9:06 p.m., September 29, 2008 EDT.

This event was in the Anna Seismic Zone, which has traditionally been one of the most active seismic zones in Ohio. However, this area has been relatively quiet in recent years. The epicenter of the earthquake is very close to the northwest-trending Anna-Champaign fault.
