Office of Trails

The Office of Trails was created on May 12, 2008.  Recognizing the state’s and department’s budget situation, the creation of the Office of Trails was “budget neutral”.  Existing staff duties were realigned to make this possible.

The short term goals of the Office of Trails over the next year include the following:

  • Work with the State Recreational Vehicle Fund Advisory Board (SRVFAB) to address the dearth of public motorized trails within the state
  • Continue the development of the Non-Motorized Statewide Trail Plan with a goal for completion in 2012
  • Begin the development of the Inaugural Motorized Statewide Trail Plan with a goal for completion in 2012
  • Administering the next round of Recreational Trails Program and Clean Ohio Trails Fund
  • Development of a web based trail map that would be available on our web page, the Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism's web page, as well as others

The entire staff of the Office of Trails is committed to providing prompt and quality customer service.  Please feel free to contact our office with any questions and/or suggestions that you may have.
