America's forestry movement actually started in Ohio with the creation of the American Forestry Association in Cincinnati in 1875.

Deadline for submitting Big Tree nominations for the 2010 Ohio Big Tree list is July 1, 2009. After July 1, 2009, nominations will be still be accepted, but they will be evaluated for the 2011 Big Tree list.
