1. ODNR Information Center & Gift Shop Your one-stop shop for natural resources literature, posters, educational and technical materials, as well as souvenirs, clothing, and toys.

2. GOVERNOR’S GROVE
Trees planted by Ohio’s governors provide lots of shade where you can relax at a picnic table or on one of 88 benches – one named for each Ohio county. The nearby Buckeye Grove features varieties of this popular tree.

3. SMOKEY BEAR Who is almost 15 feet tall and covered with 15 yards of fur? Say hello to our animated Smokey Bear, who loves to greet children by name as he reminds everyone, “Only you can prevent wildfires!”

4. KAYAKING POND Have you ever been in a kayak? If not, here’s your chance to! Those 18 & under get their opportunity to enjoy the sport of kayaking.

5. NATURAL RESOURCES PAVILION Explore the open-air pavilion and learn about Ohio’s natural resources. See a life-size replica of an eagle’s nest, learn about green camping and all of the trails Ohio has to offer. Aquariums display a variety of Ohio sportfish.

6. ODNR AMPHITHEATER Sit back and enjoy free, live entertainment each afternoon. Lumberjacks, music and animals star in these fun-filled shows. Seating in the amphitheater was made from 190,147 recycled plastic milk jugs!

7. HISTORIC LOG HOUSE & BARNYARD Travel back in time with a visit to an authentic mid-1800s log house. Gather ‘round the front porch for spinning, weaving and quilting demonstrations. Tap your toes to Appalachian folk tunes and watch kids try their hand at the old-fashinoned “washboard laundry”. Historic log homes, such as this one, can be found at various state paarks throughout Ohio.

8. RUDDER’S BOAT SHACK
Interested in kayaking at the Ohio State Fair? Well you need to start here. You also have the opportunity to take keepsake photos with memorable backdrops!

9. TALLGRASS PRAIRIE ODNR’S exhibit of a native tallgrass prairie features more than 50 native plant species. Stroll the boardwalk through big bluestem, purple coneflower, prairie dock, butterfly weed and other fascinating plants from Ohio’s prairie past.

10. PELLET, LASER & ARCHERY RANGES
Trained instructors teach kids the essentials of firearms safety with pellet guns, and test shooting skills at the laser simulator. Older teens and adults can learn archery at the adjacent range.

11. YOUTH FISHING POND How would you like to catch tonight’s supper! Kids 14 & under can fish in the well-stocked ponds.

12. OHIO WILDLIFE & WETLAND Visit some of Ohio’s notable wild creatures - river otter, beaver, wild turkey, eagles and more.

13. WILD BIRD AVIARY
Discover the wonder of bird watching inside the John Ruthven Aviary. Listen for the bobwhite quail’s distinctive call and the chatter of chickadees. Admire the northern cardinal’s flashy red feathers. See wood ducks paddling contentedly on a meandering stream and painted turtles sunning themselves on a creek-side log.

14. BUTTERFLY HOUSE
Step inside an enclosed garden filled with fluttering wings of dazzling color. Live butterflies magically emerge from chrysalises they had entered just days before as fat caterpillars.
