Eligible boat registrations with no ownership change may be renewed online from January 8 through September 30. If you want a new boat registration, or if the owner of the boat has changed, you must visit a Registration Agent.
How Can I Renew My Boat Registration If I Missed Online Renewal?
- To receive your decals in a few weeks, mail your renewal form and payment directly to our office (ODNR Watercraft Registration, 2045 Morse Road, Building A-1, Columbus OH 43229-6693). DO NOT USE THE PRE-ADDRESSED ENVELOPE; IT WILL DELAY YOUR RENEWAL.
- To receive your decals immediately, renew in person at a Watercraft Registration Agent. Call ahead to make sure they are still selling registrations for the year or have their materials for next year. If you are attempting to renew your registration after November 15, you should contact a Division of Watercraft office directly.
Missing Your Decals?
If you submitted an online payment for a boat registration but have not received your decals, please email us at wcrenewal@dnr.state.oh.us or call us at 1-877-4BOATER (in Ohio only) or 614-265-6480. Be sure to include your name and boat registration number, transaction date and confirmation number, and a phone number where we can reach you during the day.
